Come and discover what Trout Creek Wilderness Lodge has to offer!

Trout Creek Wilderness Lodge is a family-owned property of over 195 forested acres, streams and waterfalls located in the foothills of the Willamette Valley, about a one-hour drive from Portland.

The caretakers cottage is located directly on the rushing Trout Creek as it flows into the sparkling Molalla River, a tributary of the majestic Columbia.

The cottage has panoramic views of the creek, teeming with Spring Chinook Salmon and trout. Birds abound including the American Dipper. You may frequently see river otters or beavers building their homes. Old-growth and second-growth Douglas Fir, Maple, Yew and Cedar Trees surround you.

The soothing sounds of the creek will wash away your everyday cares. Plunge into the crystal clear water to swim in the natural pools, or hike up the river to the rapids and waterfalls. Or head over to the newly completed Bath House just across Trout Creek for a Cedar Sauna or a soak in our cedar barrel tub, or opt for a massage after bathing in the outdoor shower.

Enjoy rhododendron blooming in the spring or pick blackberries in the summer. Try your luck fishing for the salmon lazily circling in the river (license required). Hike the trails on the property or through the adjacent conservation lands and the Molalla River Recreation Corridor.

If you require all the modern conveniences, this beautiful property may not be the best fit for you.

Cell phone service is spotty at best. But if you need it, drive back towards town a few miles and you should get service once again. Orr you can turn on WiFi Calling for Apple and for Android. Otherwise, messaging via WiFi works well or through WhatsApp.

But we do try to provide the basics and then some; the cottage has a shower and bathroom with warm water bidet, full cinema screen with Sound-bar & bluetooth speaker, French Press, Coffee Grinder, washer and dryer, a landline phone and high speed fiber optic internet access with a mesh network or hard ethernet connection.

The Caretakers Cottage, part of Trout Creek Wilderness Lodge, is not fancy and not modern. But if you, like us, appreciate simplicity, and enjoy nature in all its wonder,  your needs and expectations will be more than met.

If you do need the washer and dryer they’re located in the carport.

We ask that the area near the main cabin at the end of the driveway be respected as private for the main cabin guests: this includes the hot tub on the river, the wood fired grill and picnic table on the creek. The Caretakers Cottage has access to the rest of the land; The River Deck and Beach, Communal Lodge, Bath House and hiking trails.
